About Dr. Liebowitz

Dr. Stanley Liebowitz is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of his profession.

He graduated from the New York University School Of Medicine in 1965, was a surgical intern at Albert Einstein Medical Center, and subsequently finished his training as a resident at Harvard Medical School, with surgical rotations at Mass General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He has served on many medical teams from an extensive list of New York City hospitals, and was the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Beekman Downtown Hospital, now NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.

He began his private practice in 1972 on New York City’s Upper East Side, and was an early innovator in arthroscopic techniques and joint replacements.

Currently, Dr. Liebowitz sees patients in NYC and Westchester, NY on a case by case basis.

He is married to his beloved wife and best friend Anita Glassberg Liebowitz, who met Stanley at Beth Israel Medical Center, where she was Assistant Director for 8 years. He is a proud father to three daughters, Sascha, Hana and Beth, all of whom are contributors to the field of healthcare through their own modalities. His grandchildren, three boys under the age of 10, are all students of Dr. Liebowitz’s second favorite profession - tennis.
